Recent Solar Activity Means the Sun is Starting to Sprint Towards it's Maximum

Sunspot activity and Coronal Mass Ejection is the main reason for the increase in aurora intensity.  We are sprinting towards a solar maximum cycle. This is part of the 11 year cycle, that has highly active sunspot activity.  So we should be leaving the solar minimum of roughly 5.5 years, little sunspot activity behind.  The sun is waking up, ramping up and preparing to present a spectacular show.  Everyone look at the sky!

Gels and Mediums Can Slow or Stop Time in Your Storage Container

One of the things I love to do is maintain a small stockpile of small containers to store painting in.  I have used plastic, glass and Non paper egg cartons.  You can mist over the paint and seal it in a container. Right now there's a lot of different materials that can be added to acrylic paint to slow down the drying time. It is very interesting that the materials that are out there now can make acrylic paint "behave" like oil paint.  What I like the most about mixing in mediums it immediately changes the composition and texture of your paint.  Your base paint is transformed by mixing in different pastes that have, pumice, fiber, glass beads or a variety of other materials. Additionally there are gels that make your paint creamier, thicker and stiffer for your variety of projects. I have also noticed that these gels have slowed or stopped time in my storage containers. Normally paint can last days to a few weeks in container. Adding gels has given me a month and slightly longer to use this paint. As an artist it is important to plan projects and prevent waste of all materials. Especially the one everyone really wants to see, the paint!
