Libraries Rock!

Today I spent time in Lincolnton at Gaston college showing my work.  The student show had ended at the Dallas campus on June 27th. I brought all of my pieces from that show and gave several instructors, staff and students a chance to see my work.  I brought sculpture: Lion Table, Man's Influence on Wood.
Ceramics: Melting Candle and Paw Pads. Painting: Crayons by Design  All of the work was well received!  Ms. King and the rest of the library staff have been very supportive and encouraging! Additionally at he Morris library Ms. Solomon and all of the staff have been very helpful and have provided and outlet for me to show my work! I am greatful to all of them for this wonderful support!  As an artist, it is a golden opportunity to be able to present work to the community!

Art is at the following libraries:
Morris Library
Gaston Regional Library
Cherryville Public Library
Mt. Holly Public Library

Happy Father's Day

Good Morning

Happy Father's Day to my Dad and all of the Dad's around the world!  They are all important and should be uplifted for all that they do!  It takes a special man to stay in a long term relationship, and raise children with a special woman!  There's a lot I can say about what has been done for me.  The world is a better place with men in it that encourage, mentor, teach and guide families.  Everyone needs to realize that being a father is not about genetics.  It is about being there through thick and thin.  Also having a vision for each member of the family. It is not just about the providing of food and shelter.  It is about the love and solid foundations to live that are based on solid principles from God.  It is a blessing to live holy and have the will to pass that ability on to the next generation.

A New Exhibit is Coming!

Good Morning to all!  I have been working on a new exhibit.  I now have the location for my exhibit. It will be revealed later.  I don't want my art team to call this the blabber instead of the blogger! :)  I will make sure that my entire team knows what's up before I share it with you.  I want everyone to take some time and take a look at this one.  There will be paintings, sculpture and functional pottery. There will be a reception! Got to go for now.  I'll whisper the location later. :)

OK I'm Excited About This...

OK, yes I'm pretty fired up about this blog.  This is something I have been wanting for sometime now.  It isn't the Porsche I supposed to get back in high school.  I'm happy that I can have a place to share some of my ideas and communicate some of the why I'm an artist.  Now I will be able to talk not only about art but give some of the stories or recipes behind them!  Before anyone has the time to ask.  GUMBO DECLASSIFIED  and Chocolate Splash are still in the works. I had to change the name on that last show.  It was originally title Carl's Chocolate Splash.  My cell phone started ringing around the clock.  No I am not going to be covered in chocolate or anything like that.  I have a special cookie I have designed that I'm trying to workout something special! Yes chocolate is one of the mediums I work with. That is why I have to be a photographer to capture the show before everyone eats it.  My exhibit CHILDS 1859 is going to need a home this summer or fall season.  I have to go for now. I just wanted to capture a few of my wild thoughts before I go back into creation mode for tonight.

THE DEAL

THE DEAL

I produce and sell my art to insitute major change in communities around the world.  My art has been used to feed children, support animal hospitals, fight cancer and provide hope for elderly and disabled people. I want to spread my artistic message globally to connect communities, bridge cultural barriers and promote healing.

It takes a team to be able to achieve and sustain this goal.  That is why I am asking you to purchase, view, comment and provide opportunities for my art. In return I will focus my efforts  in your community by: 1. Art workshops for children and Senior Citizens.  2. Use resources from my art to grow and improve your libraries.  3. Augment art programs at your local schools. 4. Mentor and guide the next generation of artists. 5. Establish contact with your local Art Guild and help them accomplish their mission. 6. Partner with your local, county, and state law enforcement agencies to provide new and innovative programs. 7. Speak to you local government on your behalf to promote cultural programming.  8. Provide scholarship and grant guidance to local colleges. 9. Increase art programs and opportunities for special needs children and adults. 10. Speak to Federal Government representatives, on your behalf, about new art programs in your community.

My Artist Statement

Artist Statement:  The primary theme of my work is skyscapes.  These works focus on rare moments in time that may be overlooked or missed due to the noise of life.  When looking at the ever changing sky, it is impossible to stay feeling lonely, sad or depressed.  My purpose as an artist is to always present my craft with ultimate vim and vigor.  I am responsible as an artist to help facilitate the personal connection between the individual, the art and nature, reminding them of the positive things of life.  I was created to gather materials and forge them into something awe inspiring and new.  Additionally I am responsible to promote, encourage and remind present and future artists of our duty to capture every moment or event possible.  I passionately project a prodigious powerful plethora of paint on cold chalky canvas caressing it with color.  I spend time throwing a multitude of shapes into the fiery furnace to be forever frozen by fire.  I look forward to growth and maturity in my craft while still maintaining a soft clean innocent look and distinctive strokes.  I want to spread my artistic message globally to connect communities, bridge cultural barriers to promote healing. Most importantly to provide current artist renewed energy and to stir up some of the greatest ideas for generations to come.
